Senior Boys Basketball

The Senior Boys Basketball team has officially been finalized! Check out the Roster tab for a list of team members and the Schedule/Results tab for a list of upcoming events! Congratulations to the boys and good luck with the upcoming season.

Thanks to a jump in intensity in the second half, the senior boys basketball team captured first place and finished the regular season at 11 - 0. The boys will play KCVI in quarter final action on Tuesday.

Thank you to all the staff and students that came out last night to pack the gym in support of Holy Cross' first ever Seniors Night. Last night saw Fox, Pospisil, Reade, Shkimba, and Tripp play their final regular season home basketball game against KCVI. Brody Maracle, led all scorers with 16, pushing HC to a 62-29 victory. The team travels to Ernestown on Thursday for a battle for first place at 4:00.

The senior boys basketball team improved their KASSAA record to 9-0, following a 59-30 win over the Sharbot Lake Panthers. Tripp's double-double led the team.

Thanks to all those that came out last night for Holy Cross' first ever whiteout. The support shown by fans pushed the boys to a 59-56 over their west-end rivals, the Frontenac Falcons. The team takes their undefeated season to Sharbot Lake tonight to look to extend their KASSAA winning streak to eight games.

The senior boys basketball team head into the break with a 5-0 record after defeating the Sydenham Golden Eagles last night, 45-17. In the last 6 quarters of basketball, the boys have defended hard and held their opponents to a combined 20 points.

The senior boys basketball improved to 3-0 on the season with a 57-35 win over the LCVI Lancers last night. Brody Maracle led the way with 14 boards, followed by Tripp with 7 and Reade with 6.

The senior boy’s basketball team took an early 9-2 lead against the QE Raiders last night, but had difficulty extending it as they went into the half up by 9. The boys had a 9-4 third quarter and were up 19 going into the final 2 minutes of the game. QE knocked down a couple of 3’s in the final minutes to close the gap to 11.

The 6th annual Crusader Christmas Classic ran this past weekend with 16 of the top teams in the AAA loop in Ontario coming to Kingston to compete at both Holy Cross and Bayridge. The Holy Cross senior boys fought hard for three straight wins against AAAA Sir Robert Borden of Ottawa, North York’s Emery, and Midland’s OFSAA powerhouse St Theresa. In the semi-finals, the boys hosted the Jean Vanier Maverick’s (a pre-season OFSAA favourite) and played with them, narrowly losing 58-51. In the bronze medal game, an exhausted and injury riddled Crusader team went up against last year’s OFSAA quarter-final’s London Banting. The Crusaders fought hard but ran out of gas in the final quarter, as Banting escaped with a 51-40 win.

The senior boys basketball team opened up their KASSAA title defense with a 53-25 win over the Napanee Golden Hawks. Calum Steele led all players with 7 boards. The team travels to Queen's University this weekend.
