Holy Cross vs Sydemham in KASSAA finals

 After a close game between Holy Cross and Frontenac, the Crusaders walked away with the win. In the first half the Falcons scored a tochdown off a long drive, but the Crusaders awnsered with a touchdown drive of their own. The half ended with the score tied 7-7.In the second half it was still tied in the last 4 minutes of the game. With 37 seconds left in the game Scott Mossman scored on a run up the middle from the 7 yard line. Frontenac started their drive, but an interception by Brendan Verkerk sealed the victory.

Crusaders roll over Golden Eagles

 The Holy Cross Crusaders defeats Syndenham with the score 27 - 7

Scoring was by Eric Dodwell,who had two scores in the game, Kicker Nate Kellar had two field goals and Jean-Luc Richardson also had a touchdown. The Crusaders will go into the playoffs with a perfect record!

 

Crusaders ground Falcons - 29/09/09

 The junior Crusaders football team defeated the Frontnac Falcons yesterday in a close game with the score 28-21. The first score was made by Jean-Luc on an off-tackle run for the 12 yard score. Shortly after his first touchdown appearance he had scored again giving the Crusaders a 14 point lead and leaving the Falcons scoreless. In the second quarter the Falcons rallied to tie up the score 14-14 ending the half. In the second half the Crusaders scored twice making it 28-14, but the Falcons bounced back with a long run, but failed to complete there come-back. The final score was 28-21 Crusaders.

 

Crusaders Slay the Black Knights- 17/09/09

In the junior game, Holy Cross Crusaders beat the Knights like their senior counterparts. Tom Daeschel opened the scoring with a long touchdown run. Jean-Luc Richardson then added two quick majors on long runs as well to make halftime score 20-7. The Holy Cross scoring was rounded out by Eric Dodwell on a goal-line run. Final score 27-7 for the win as well.

Season Preveiw & Coaching Staff- 10/09/09

 

Holy cross Junior Football is right around the corner and the team is already preparing for upcoming games. Coaches are looking for strong performances for all returning grade 10 players, especially starting quarterback Matt Pendergast, as well as Jean-Luc Richardson and Tom Daechsel on the offense. Returning veterens Drew McKee, Aaron Brownlee and Mike vanLaren with rookies Jay Mackie, Nate Kellar, Alex Tonge and Nic Cumming are all expected to play key roles this season.
