| 2009 - 2010 Swimming Team |
The Swim team had an outstanding season. For the first time in over 5 years the team included a girl’s relay team at
EOSSAA. They placed first in both the 400M freestyle relay and in the 200M medley relay.
At the OFSAA championship in Etobicoke our girls relays placed 5th and 6th in the province. Both teams consisted of Hannah Sutherland, Laura Perry, Samantha Searle, and Manu Delaney. Manu, Laura, and Hannah all made finals in their individual races. Nik Tolgyesi and Chad Lees both competed as Para Swimmers. Nik received a bronze medal in the 100M freestyle as well as best times. Chad was awarded with a 6th place finish in the 50M backstroke. Overall, Holy Cross placed an outstanding 29th out of 282 school teams that participated in the competition. Well done Crusaders! I would now like to call up Mrs. Coombs to present the awards for swimming.
