Senior Girls Soccer

Try Outs for the 2010 season will begin soon.

Season: 2009

Crusaders Edge Eagles.
On April 23rd the regular season kicked off for the senior girl's soccer team. The game was tight throughout with a 0-0 score at the halftime break. During the second half the Crusaders started taking smart shots and captain Amanda Ainslie scored the one and only goal late in the game securing the win for Holy Cross. After the game she had this to say; "The game was close the whole time, we ended up coming out on top because of our defence. They kept the ball out of our end for most of the game and it gave us the chance to get more shots in." The girls will be enjoying a 1-0 start for their record and kick off again April 24th against KCVI at 2:00 at Holy Cross.

KCVI Leave With a Slim Win
Friday the 24th the Sr. Girls showed a good performance against the KCVI Blues. The girls kept it close for most of the game as KCVI's goals came in the second half on their 2-0 win. It wasnt hard to see that the girls may have been still tired from playing just one day before. The girls had the long weekend to rest and play Sydenham on Tuesday the 28th at Sydenham.

Golden Eagles Soar Over Crusaders
When the Crusaders made the trip to Sydenham they did not look themselves through most of the game as they lost 2-0. The Crusaders were out shot for the majority of the game. The Crusaders had a few missed shots in the second half on a late game run for the comeback. The girls record now stands at 1-2 and they try to improve on that record when they play Frontenac at Holy Cross. The kickoff is at 3:30.

Crusaders Fall to Falcons
Holy Cross hosted Frontenac on their final home game and fell short with a score of 3-0. The Crusaders were short their starting goal keeper as she is out with an illness for the rest of the season. Many position switches were made for the game because of it and the Crusaders were never able to redeem themselves from Frontenacs first goal. The girls next game is at Napanee on Monday May 11th at 5:30 pm. Go out and support the girls for kickoff!

Holy Cross Gets Much Needed Win
On Monday the 11th the Crusaders traveled to Napanee in desperate need for a win to keep playoff hopes alive. Holy Cross came out with a clutch 2-0 performance with stellar defence throughout the game. Because of the defence, the Golden Hawks barely managed to get any shots off at all through the entire game. The Crusaders play their biggest game of the season against Regi on Friday May 15th at 3:30.
