The girl guides are looking for volunteers to help clean up the camp grounds behind the Invista site on Front Road. Jobs include raking and painting picnic tables etc. If interested, please pick up a form in Student Services.

Cirque du Soleil Trip to Montreal

Just a reminder to those students going on the Cirque du Soleil trip to Montreal this Friday. The bus boards at 8:45 am. Be sure to be on time and dressed appropriately for the weather.

vocal ensemble

Attention all those who performed in the vocal ensemble in Orlando last month. You will be back on stage at next week's Genesis awards. There will be a rehearsal on Wednesday, May 16th in the guitar room at lunch. Anyone who has taken vocal music this year or any choir members are also welcome to join. That's Wednesday at lunch singers!

TTC

Any students interested in signing up for the TTC volleyball camp in August at Holy Cross can still pick up a form from Mr. Sicoli in the PHE office. If you have it in by tomorrow, you are guaranteed a spot in the camp!

A representative from OSAP will be here on Tuesday, May 22 to explain the application process. Grade 12 students wishing to apply for OSAP should attend at 11:10 in the lecture theatre.

A reminder to the Holy Cross Improv Team: we will be performing at the Genesis Awards next Wednesday night. Please touch base with Ms Rose for details.

genesis Art Show

Semenster 1 Grade 12 art students are invited to bring in their art for the Genesis Art Show. Students who would like to organize the art show will meet in the art room on Tuesday at lunch. Posters for the Genesis Awards can be handed in at the meeting.

Scholarships

This is a reminder to all graduates to continue to check the Scholarship board across from Student Services for information on current and upcoming scholarships. Two recent postings are for those graduates going into a field related to horticulture and to those graduates with a high average who are going into the field of engineering.

Grade 9 Concert Band Rehearsals

A reminder to ALL grade 9 Concert Band members of the rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday in the music room at the beginnig of the lunch hour.

Valedictorian 2010

The second round of voting for this year's valedictorian will take place at the beginning of period one this Friday. Potential graduates who do not have a first period class or who a first period grade 11 class can vote in the cafeteria between periods one and two on Friday.

Summer school

Students interested in summer school sessions at Bayridge can pick up registration forms in student services. See your counsellor.

Sr Girls soccer

Congratulations to all the Senior Girls soccer team on winning an exciting quarter final match agaisnt Sydneham. The entire team dug deep to battle in the second overime to play stong defense. Hats off to Morgan and Melissa for theri never ending saves, and to the creative play of Grace Esford who continues to feed the ball to Syndey' Smith's for her 2 goals. all team members meet in 113 for lunch today.

Food Blitz

We still need drivers and canvassers for tomorrow evening's Food Blitz. Join the team here at Holy Cross as we collect food door-to-door for the local Food Bank, and then sort and pack it into boxes. It's a great opportunity to help others in need. See Mr. Forster today to sign up. This is also the final week to apply for CICS' Executive for next year. Pick up an application form from Mr. Forster in the Chaplaincy Office.

Jr. Girls Soccer

The junior girls soccer team advanced to the semi-finals with a win against LCVI yesterday. Sydney De Longhi scored twice, with singles from Devan Anderson, Sabrina Goncalves, Ashley MacDonald, Jensen Murphy, Christina Papadakis, and Ainslie Plouffe. Emma Arbuckle and Marilyn Doherty shared the shutout.

Teachers are reminded to dismiss the Junior Boys soccer players at 2:15 today for their playoff game against Sydenham.
