The Holy Cross Green Team is busy planning events and activities to highlight our recycling efforts here at Holy Cross during the coming year. Green and Grey bins were installed in the hallways of our school for cans and plastic bottles. More activities are planned for the coming weeks.
Holy Cross Installs GOOS Trays

The Holy Cross Art Club and Green Team have been busy this semester making GOOS paper trays. GOOS stands for Good On One Side and GOOS paper is paper that has been used on one side only. As a certified EcoSchool, Holy Cross, has been making efforts to reduce our waste throught the three R’s – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. As a school of over 1200 students, Holy Cross uses a lot of paper. These trays will serve as a collection site for GOOS paper which can be used again. The first set of trays will be mounted next to photocopiers for staff to use as a source of paper for single sided handouts. To further promote the idea of reusing, these trays were obtained for different areas around the school where they we no longer needed. Under the direction of Mr. Lobo, the trays were then painted in the art room giving them a new use. Go Green HC!
