Celebrating PRIDE Across ALCDSB

Pride Month is recognized across the ALCDSB throughout June to celebrate the diversity, resilience, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Throughout the year, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and allies within our Catholic learning communities come together to raise awareness and renew commitments to creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming environments for all students and staff.

The Progress Pride flag* will be raised outside of the Board Office in Nappanee again this yearto represent the solidarity of all schools and sites across the system for Pride MonthThis flag is a public symbol that communicates that as a Catholic Education system, we see you and stand with you in solidarity.

Every person in ALCDSB deserves to feel loved, safe, accepted, and inspired in our system each and every day. We acknowledge the importance of students and families seeing positive visual representations of themselves in the school community, in the curriculumand in the resources available to them. For that reason, ALCDSB is committed to continuously reviewing and updating resources to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

*ALCDSB schools will adhere to flag protocols outside of school buildings, by continuing to display only the Canadian flag. However, Progress Pride flags may be flown inside school buildings.
