Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Kingston organized a Fish Fry Fundraiser (try saying that five times!). A fish fry is battered or breaded fried fish.
The fundraiser aims to raise money for charitable organizations in Jamaica that secondary school students will meet and work with in Jamaica when they go on their mission trip in February. These include directly supporting schools, homes for the elderly, and building a house. Students are responsible for paying their own way on the trip, ensuring that 100% of the proceeds help those in need in Jamaica.
This is the first time since the beginning of COVID-19 that students will have the opportunity to go to another country to help support the economic needs of that nation.
Thank you to all local businesses who supported by donating food, raffle prizes, music entertainment, and more!
The students baked treats for dessert.
